These are the launch mechanisms that would be attached to the bridge of ships to fire stick guided Schemuly signal rockets - basically large firework type rockets. Rockets could be used for signal, avoidance, distress, or in the case of "Snowflake" rockets, the aerial discharge of many white falling stars would outline an enemy submarine on the surface at night.
