THE GERMAN KRIEGESMARINE  -1935 to the 1940s

Jim Payne says "Album one features the German Cruiser Konigsberg ...it was the property of Sailor Ludwig Kammerloher dates approximately mid 1930s to WW2 . A few interesting images from when the ship visited England ( German Sailor posing with 2 English guardsmen in their busbys ) ..many good photos of the ship and crew 

Album 2 ..was put together by a sailor who served on Panzerschiff Admiral Scheer ..again many good photos of ship and crew members .

These should be of interest to the  Kriegsmarine enthusiast .

The albums belonged to  German Kriegsmarine sailor who served on Panzershiff Deutschland and covers a period between approximately 1934 through to 1940s ..lots of images of crew , shots on deck , places visited , shots of the ship ...this gives a real flavour of life on board the ship .

The Deutschland was involved in the Spanish civil war , there are pictures of the bombardment of Palma and also damage inflicted on the ship after a Spanish air attack , there are pictures of the large funeral service held at Wilhemshaven for members of the ships crew who were killed in the attack ...The German leader  A H is  seen in several photos on board the ship  .

The ship is also seen in dry dock undergoing repairs ..these are great images"

The images here are very low resolution only, on the CD they print out to A4 and A3 really well. Jim is doing an amazing job, buying in these albums at auctions etc, and rather than keeping them to himself in his own collection, he is making them easily available to all, costs ?? with p&p, less than a £ tenner - an amazing buy. The more you buy off him, the more albums he will get and so the the more you will get, so do it!! I have because I want to see more.
